You might’ve seen the headlines recently — new tariffs on imported goods, growing trade tensions, and lots of chatter about delays and supply issues, particularly when it comes to furniture, lighting and other pieces coming out of the U.S.
If you’re mid-project or about to invest in one, I completely understand how this could feel a bit unsettling — especially if you’ve fallen in love with something beautiful that just happens to be made across the pond.
But please don’t worry — at Haysey Designs, we’re already all over it.
We’re keeping a close eye on things, adjusting where needed and working closely with our trusted suppliers to make sure your project stays on track. Your home is in very safe (and very stylish) hands.
So, what’s actually happening?
Recent political changes in the U.S. have reintroduced or increased tariffs on certain imported materials and products — which could potentially affect some of the items we specify, source, or have made from abroad.
However, we work with a wide and trusted network of UK- and EU-based suppliers, and we’re in regular contact with our makers and trade partners to keep everything moving smoothly.
We also keep a close eye on timelines, product availability and customs procedures — so if we anticipate any delays or price shifts, we build in alternative options from the very beginning.
How does this affect your project?
In short: very little, if anything at all.
We plan each phase of your design carefully — sourcing thoughtfully, checking availability, and, where possible, choosing beautiful alternatives that come from closer to home. We also keep you updated at every step, so there are no surprises or last-minute decisions.
Should anything change unexpectedly, we’ll always offer clear guidance and solutions that don’t compromise on the look, feel, or quality you’re investing in.
The bottom line?
You don’t need to worry about international trade politics — that’s our job.
Your focus should be on enjoying the design process, knowing that every detail is being handled with care, creativity and foresight.
And if you ever have questions — about sourcing, delivery, costs, or anything else — you only have to ask. We’re always happy to walk you through it.
If you’re ready to move forward or want to talk through the best options for your space, get in touch. We’d love to hear more about what you’re planning.
